This part of the site is dedicated to the men and women who suffered at the hands of the Japanese in the many hell camps which were dotted throughout Asia during World War 2. The following photographs were sent to us to show us all what life was like in these camps. The photographs were the property of a soldier called Harvey Young and all of them were taken during his internment in several of these notorious camps. A book was written in 1950 by Cptn. John T. Barnard 2nd /6th East Surry Regiment entitled 'The Endless Years' that tells the story of their struggle to stay alive. Where possible we have indicated where the picture was taken and who is in it. If you can recognise anyone in the photographs or, in certain cases, the location please e-mail us with the details.
