  • 1937-38 Enlisted in T.A. at Hindley, 5th Loyal Reg.
  • 1938-41 Enlisted in regular army Royal Artillery, Malaya and Singapore.
  • 1941-42 Palau Tekong, Changi gaol, escaped to India. Bush Warfare school Maymyo, Chungking.
  • 1942 Fought at Rangoon, captured and escaped from Rangoon Gaol.
  • 1943 Operation Longcloth.
  • 1944 Operation Thursday.
  • Broadway and White City
